#FIFAWWC Group stages R3

The shocks in this round! Brazil is out, Germany is out. What South Korea did was peak villainy and I absolutely love it. They didn't need the win or draw but they decided they weren't leaving the competition without scoring a goal. Unfortunately it was against Germany which eliminated them.

In the words of the musicial philosopher, Shakira, Tsamina mina, eh, eh, Waka waka, eh, eh Tsamina mina zangalewa this time for Africa! For the first time ever, we have 3 African countries going into the next round. THREE! Congratulations to South Africa(Who finally learnt some game management), Nigeria and Morocco.

Panama scored their first goal in the tournament and it was against France, I think it should be considered as one of the best goals of the tournament.

The Jamaican ladies are something else; they haven't conceded a goal yet (they've played Brazil AND France) and they eliminated Brazil by holding them to a draw. They had to raise money using gofundme to prepare for the tournament, I really admire their determination and resilience and fingers crossed their FA will take them serious now.

Japan owned Spain so much, it wasn’t even funny. They allowed the Spanish ladies to possess the ball(68% of the time) and hit them on the counter with the speed of their attackers; they had 6 shots on target and 4 of those were goals. And we all know the Japanese ladies are going to tidy up the place after thrashing their opponents. Norway finally had their win and moved into the next round, a very close shave.

The England and Lauren James show! In the previous post, I talked about how Sarina might have to strategize due to the state of the squad and wow, did she deliver. She totally unleashed Lauren James into that number 10 position and the girl did not fail, Russo finally got her goal and Beth England got to play. This confidence the English team has found is needed if they want to make the finals.

Portugal held the USA to a draw! That was the biggest shock and although the Portuguese girls were disappointed, their squad can only get better from here. They have a bright future and I know in the next World cup, they're going to be huge threats.
